Alfonso Valiente and Rosemary Elikolani met in the 1970s and married after a year. They are the parents of Nicole, born on June 29, 1978, and Keala, born in 1981. They grew up in Honolulu, Hawaii. Alfonso left his daughter and her mother when she was two years old and moved to the United States with another woman. Her mother Rosemary remarried Gary Scherzinger who stepped up to be a present father and Nicole took his last name. Rosemary was a clerk in Louisville, Kentucky while Gary was a welder.
Nicole’s family background is complex as her father is Filipino and Hawaiian, her mother is of Ukrainian origin and her stepfather is German American.
