August 19, 2023 – a boating accident on the Intracoast – Waterway near Little River, South Carolina claimed the life of Olivia Knighton. Olivia was in a 23-foot vessel with 11 passengers when a large wake from another boat jolted her. The impact tossed nine people overboard – including Olivia. Olivia was hit by the propeller on the boat and died later on at McLeod Seacoast Hospital.
