Unigue Gift Ideas for Fathers Day
If your father’s or children’s father’s idea of the perfect day is one spent in camouflage, hunting, fishing or drinking whiskey these gift ideas should be right up your alley. These are the best gifts for hunting dads or just normal everyday joes. I based these ideas off of items my husband loves and/or wants.
Every year I head straight to my husbands Amazon wishlist for unique gift ideas but this year his items are way too expensive. I already bought the items from his wishlist that are in my budget range over the last few holidays. Below is one of the items left on his list. Ya right babe!
But I am sure any hunter or outdoorsman would love them. I do want to share that this post does contain affiliate links. Which means if you were to make a purchase I may earn a small commision for referring you.
If you need a gift for a father that has it all this list will help you out. My husband is the type that has everything and what he does not have and wants is very expensive, like the binoculars above. After doing some research and thinking of all his favorite things I came up with this list. There are things under $10 and things over $200 but I wanted to cover a wide range so there was something for everyone.
First up is this shirt. Easy enough to explain and see why this shirt would be a good fit. I bought this as a stocking stuffer for my husband last year and he wears it quite often. The shirt is pretty good quality for the price and makes for a cheaper gift idea.
You make check out each item for more info or to purchase by clicking on the Buy on Amazon button. I like to refer to Amazon products because I trust them and they have a great refund policy.
Obviously, we hunt and eat game. So we have also tried a ton of seasonings. There are a lot of good seasonings out there but this one is one of our favorites right now. It’s good on back straps and beef steaks. Buy this and the shirt and you are good to go.
And speaking of BBQing we love our Traeger grill. If you don’t have one yet it is worth every single penny. My husband is not a fan of gas grills because of the flare ups so this comes in really handy when we do not want to wait for the wood to burn down. Traegers are good for smoking and BBQing. The meat is so tender and juicy when it’s done. Our go-to is cooking tri-tip on it.
You may also bake items in it. I usually cook our meatloaf and enchiladas on it to not heat up the house in the summer.
Here is the description straight from their site for more info.
Never Use Gas or Charcoal Again: Cooking with wood just tastes better. Traeger created the original wood-pellet grill as the ultimate way to achieve wood-fired taste
Versatile Barbecue Cooking: Hot and fast, or low and slow, the Traeger Lil’ Tex Elite 22 pellet grill offers 6-in-1 versatility to grill, smoke, bake, roast, braise, and bbq food to juicy perfection
Grilled to Perfection Every Time: Integrated Digital Elite Controller keeps temps within +/- 20 degrees F and makes setting the grill temperature as easy as turning a dial
Easy and Predictable: The Lil’ Tex Elite 22 offers consistency you can trust, allowing you to craft amazing wood-fired creations time and time again with the ease of set it and forget it
Perfect Size for the At-Home Cook: Enjoy 418 sq. in. of grilling space that can accommodate up to 16 burgers, 4 whole chickens, or 5 racks of ribs

Already have a Traeger? Of course, they are awesome but do you have a large propane grill like the one above? These things are pretty cool.
As a native Californian, we love tacos. Any kind of taco is our favorite kind. This grill is particularly awesome (and easy for me) when we buy the pre-made meat already seasoned with the bell peppers and onions from a local Mexican food mart. We just throw the meat on there and flip it over after a couple minutes. Then push it to the side and warm up the tortillas. Comes in really handy for parties because the cooktop is large and cooks a lot at once.
They advertise using it for breakfast because you can fit a ton of bacon and sausage on it and cook potatoes and eggs all at the same time. We have yet to try that but we will soon I am sure. Here is a quote from a review straight from the listing. After reading it I added the cooking utensils set that is pictured next. I forgot I had bought one to use as well.
My husband and I agree that this is one of the best purchases we’ve ever made. This makes the best food and is easy to clean. The more you use it, the better the flavor it imparts to the food you cook, like cast iron. The size is great, not so big that it feels there’s wasted space, not so small that you get cranky that you can’t fit enough food on it (see pictures). It heats evenly, but I generally like to have it hotter in the middle and on low on the sides. We’ve cooked everything from a steak dinner for two to breakfast for seven on it, and every time we love the results.
I suggest getting a waterproof cover (the Blackstone cover is not waterproof), flexible grilling spatulas, a scraper, and a melting dome.
Husband Approved Gadgets
When I got my new phone Verizon was offering a tablet for only $50. It was the Samsung tablet I posted above. I got it thinking it was a smoking deal and my kids could use it or my hubby. He didn’t really use one before but now he uses this one all the time. He likes the bigger screen for videos and his games. Why do men play those stupid phone games? I don’t even have time to check my Instagram regularly.
Below is the Nest thermostat. We just installed a new ac/heater unit and my husband was literally giddy when this came in and it was finally installed. Just yesterday and saw that it was 78 degrees inside on his way home from work and turned it down to 76 degrees from the app on his phone.
It lets you set temperatures for certain times of the day and you can turn it on when you are on your way home to cool it down right before you get back. So you aren’t running it while you are gone or trying to cool down a really hot house.

Lame Gift Idea Turned Into a Good One
Last but not least the Bug a Salt gun. Years ago I saw this and almost bought one for my husband. I ended up getting him another gift instead. He loved that gift so I was explaining to him after he opened it how I was glad I didn’t buy the salt gun that I was going to give him. He told me thanks but I think the salt gun would be pretty lame because I won’t use it very often.
Ha. I think I know my husband. Fast forward a few years and he is a local store and sees one. His buddy he was with had one and said they are great for killing flies. So Cole buys one and brings it home to show me. I told him I knew he would like the gun and it was not a lame idea. Us women are smarter than they think!
Ever since then I can honestly say he has used it for countless hours. He loves the dang thing. He will sit outside on our porch and shoot fly after fly with it. The girls using it as well. For the price point, I think it would make an excellent gift. Don’t forget to get a big thing of salt too!
Does your father get up earlier than the crack of dawn, head out to a hunting blind and sit quietly and patiently for hours on end? If your answer is yes then your father is a hunter. So let why not let him enjoy hunting for his own gift. Give him an Amazon or Cabelas gift card. I love getting cards and shopping myself I am sure they will too. It’s the thought that counts right?
Are you thinking you made need some cute printable gift tags too? Head to this post here to check some free gift tags.

I’m really tempted to buy my husband grill stuff, just so he’ll feel responsible for dinner at least occasionally, ha, ha! And last year for my birthday he bought me a gun he wanted. So it’s fair, right?
corey hudson
AmyTotally fair! My husband literally does nothing cooking or around the house except grilling. So I feel your pain.
