DIY Farmhouse Office Decor Photos and Sources

SHaring my DIY farmhouse office decor today. Take a look at my new little farmhouse office space. It’s still a work in progress but I wanted to share some photos with you in the beginning stages.
I have so many plans for this space and I can’t wait to get started. But first, let me tell you a bit of background about why I am setting up this space.

Old Business and Office
If you are new here you probably don’t know that I used to own a baby bedding business. I loved my business and the customers but I got so burned out on sewing I decided to sell it. Above is a sheet I made for my daughters in her room. I designed the floral print as well. You can see all of my surface patterns designs here if you want. Well, I also got burned out on my office space.
My sewing room/office was in our guest house. Since I sold the business I have been doing all of my working in my bedroom at my desk. I literally was so tired of the space I didn’t want to work in it. I ended up just making it a catch-all and storage space for all of our stuff.
Well working in my bedroom in the house is a lot tougher with two little kids wanting my undivided attention. So I decided since I bought a new computer I would set up a new office area back in the guest house.
My old office was in the bedroom of our guest house and it’s still like my storage unit. Let’s be real. Who has time to clean and organize that mess? so I set up my new office in the living room of the guest house. It’s not ideal and won’t be permanent but it will work great for now. I’ve wanted to start this DIY farmhouse decor project for a while now.
We don’t have guests stay with us too often but when they do the air mattress will still fit fine in the space. There is also a big couch in the room as well. Which I totally plan on deconstructing soon. I will share the post when it’s done!

New Computer for Work
I had to get a new computer. The one I am currently typing on the keyboard is going out. The “a” key to be exact. It’s really annoying having to retype pretty much every word with an “a” in it or using my trusty old Grammarly extension to fix the words. I have a laptop that is 3 or 4 years old and it has been used! It’s been really good for me. I plan on still using it when I want to be mobile but will do the majority of my work on my new desktop.
I won’t go into too much detail of which desktop I chose and why unless you ask me to) but here is the monitor I chose and here is the tower I custom built from Velocity. I know some people will end up emailing me and asking because I have a lot of other business owners and designers who read my posts.
Since I had the tower custom built I have not yet received it. It’s currently on its way to me. Yes, I totally took some quick pictures of my new space without an actual working computer because I just could not wait!
Since I use Adobe programs to design my surface pattern designs and edit my photos I needed something way faster. After a ton of research (and money) we ended up on the combo. I cannot wait to get on it and see how fast it is. If you want me to do a whole blog post on that let me now by commenting below!

Antique Office Furniture
The desk was a score for $60 at a local antique store. I bought these caster wheels to put it on the legs too. I just love the looks of the wheels and I needed another inch of height to sit comfortably on it. It was an old workbench so the height was a bit off.

The farmhouse office chair is something I have had my eye on for a while. It is more petite and has no armrests which is exactly what I was looking for. I might actually buy another one for my bedroom. It comes in over 10 colors too! It is a great DIY farmhouse office decor piece.

The keyboard and mouse combo was a bit pricier than I wanted at $50 but after reading dozens of reviews I chose to spend a tad more to have a wireless keyboard and mouse that doesn’t disconnect a bunch. You can find the wireless keyboard and mouse combo by clicking above. I really wanted the keypad too so this one worked out good.
And this handy little cell phone holder was very inexpensive! It has already come in handy when I was jotting down notes at my desk from my phone.
