Fighting Cold & Flu With Essential Oils
If you haven't tried essential oils you need to
I never in a million years thought I would be into them but I am! I thought it was some hippie dippie stuff (no offense to anyone) until I was at my sisters house and she had some diffusing. My mood was instantly lifted and the smell was amazing. I was hooked instantly. This post does contain some affiliate links but the review is honest, I promise.
The fact that they are all natural is a bonus. Since I have gotten into oils I have had fun making sugar scrubs and creams as well as face oils. There is a lot of stuff you can do with them besides diffuse.
Essential Oils For Cold & Flu
Essential oils are used during cold and flu season for their antiviral and antibacterial properties. Some plants (thyme, oregano, rosemary, or even lavender), trees (juniper, sage, frankincense) and grasses (lemongrass or citronella) all produce germ-fighting essential oils. Plants create and use the natural oils to fend off insects, bacteria, fungi and other things. So why would we not use them for the same?
Diffusing the oils is the easiest and quickest way
To diffuse the oils you must have a diffuser I bought mine from Amazon here and loved it so I bought another for my bedroom. I also buy my oils from my sister here. After doing research I have found that even those these are mroe expensive they are worth the extra buck. I started out with the kit because it had the most free oils and later added the food grade ones like lemon and basil. Ill do another post on those soon.
Below I added some recipes or blends to help prevent illness and improve your recovery if you feel like you’re coming down with something. Add the drops to your diffuser after the water and that's it. It will be fighting for you in the background. Just remember to adjust the number of drops according to your diffuser instructions. Just print out this cheat sheet and keep it handy!
